Agentic Project Manager

Most teams use Telegram to communicate but switch to Jira, Notion, or Trello for task tracking and project management. It’s a simple command bot, but it’s creating a painful context switch. Updates get lost in chat, tasks go stale, and no one follows up.

Agentic Project Manager solves this by bringing the project manager INTO Telegram. Unlike a simple command bot, this is a fully autonomous AI agent: it decides WHEN to ask, WHO to ask, and WHAT to say entirely on its own.

Key Capabilities

1. Natural Language Task Management - create, assign, update, and close tasks via plain English in the group chat.
2. Proactive Follow-Ups - every 4 hours the scheduler scans for stale tasks and DMs assignees automatically, no manual trigger needed.
3. Two-Tier Escalation - friendly DM after 4 hours of silence; firm DM + non-blaming group escalation after 24 hours.
4. Daily Standups - posts an automatic summary every morning: "3 done ✅, 2 in progress 🔄, 1 blocked 🚫".
5. Overdue Task Alerts - flags overdue tasks in the group every day at 10:00 AM.
6. Slash Commands - /setup, /join, /status, /tasks, /mytasks, and /help for structured control alongside natural language.

Agentic Architecture

• OpenAI Agents SDK drives the reasoning loop, where the LLM selects from a suite of tools (create task, assign, update status, query stale tasks, send DM, post to group) and chains actions autonomously.
• node-cron handles the proactive scheduler that runs stale-task detection and daily standup jobs on a fixed cadence.
• Prisma + PostgreSQL (Docker) persist all project, member, and task state with full relational integrity.
• Grammy handles all Telegram Bot API interactions, including private DMs and group messages.

This project demonstrates what separates an AI agent from a simple chatbot: autonomous decision-making, proactive behavior, and multi-step tool use to manage all within a familiar communication platform.
