Typekaro - Learn to Type Without Looking

Typekaro is a touch-typing platform you open and start using straight away: no account, no sign-up, nothing to install.

The distinguishing feature is a synchronised finger guide. As you type, the on-screen keyboard lights the next key and a pair of SVG hands raises the finger that should press it, both drawn in the same colour. Both read from one key-to-finger map, so they can never disagree.

Seven ways in, sharing that one idea

1. Learn - ten lessons from the home row to full sentences, unlocking in order and scored on accuracy rather than speed.
2. Practice - free drills by key group, or a drill built from the keys you personally keep getting wrong.
3. Play - two games, Catch the Letter and Rocket Typing, each ending in an endless Challenge mode.
4. Test - a timed test from 15 seconds to two minutes, reporting words per minute and accuracy.
5. Progress - a dashboard with typing trends, difficult keys, errors by finger and speed against accuracy.
6. Achievements - streaks and badges for signed-in accounts, each badge drawn as its own artwork.
7. Badge library - a public catalogue of every badge and how it is earned.

Architecture

• Local first: localStorage is the source of truth, so every core feature works with no account and no network.
• An optional, free Clerk account adds a cloud copy in Neon Postgres through Prisma, reached only through server actions, so progress follows you to another device.
• Sync merge rules are pure, idempotent and order independent, so syncing twice or on two devices cannot inflate a total or lose work.
• Built for children too: it collects as little as possible, and typed text never leaves the browser.
• Analytics are opt in and off until someone agrees.
